    When wishes come true

Thank you everyone who helped organise and joined in my 25th anniversary celebration yesterday, 17 April.

Now I truly believe that wishes can come true.

    Some completely like belly dancing.

Some partly like the calendar ( I understood that the original idea was to have an IRC “bottoms” calendar, pity).

Some not at all like having Victoria Koblenko as INCO Section Head.

The last wish I feel has misinterpreted by most people except me. I see Ms Koblenko as a new breed of manager – the feel-good facilitator. Just looking at her picture makes one feel good, so imagine what the effect would be to have her here in person.

This fits in with the new organizational form IRC needs to accommodate the predicted growth scenario. Notice that I have replaced “structure” with “form”. IRC does not require a fixed structure other than groups of self-regulating teams which form spontaneously, grow organically and dissolve, mutate, split or merge when change is required. Motivation and inspiration is provided by feel-good facilitators. There is no need for a director or supervisory board because decision-making is truly participatory, completely open and transparent. Guidance is provided by a team of developmental biologists. Of course, control freaks and micro-managers will first need to follow a “re-humanising” or “de-programming” learning trajectory.

    Cor the day after.

Just browsing the IBM intranet you come across the most strange things like an initiative for Sustainable water supplies for human consumption and a conference in Amsterdam. And I just thought, hmm curious. I used to something with water in TheHague .
Do they still exists? They must have a web site. So I went out to look for IRC and guess what. One of the first hits on my search was this Cor Dietvorst site. (you should make it the offical site)
Glad to see that your looking good and as it seems are having fun. I went through the pictures of the event and I could remember some faces and I even saw myself while you were reading the real stuff. Funny. I even had hair.
Say hello to all . Keep up the good work. Bye
