Dutch with Cor

For our non-Dutch colleagues at IRC we offer this short course on Dutch language & culture. It’s a fun method based on Cor principles.

Once you’ve mastered the material presented on this site, you should be able to read simple words and have short conversations about Cor business.

If you wish to continue your studies and to expand your vocabulary! Use the worksheet and apply the Cor techniques yourself. You will find out that all you need is Cor, some tape, a camera and a colleague.

Typical Dutch girls name. Former ex-IRC colleague.

Cor-ry Konings

Famous Ducth singer, who had her major breakthrough with the hit song, ‘Crying is too late now’. She left her band De Rekels in 1972 for a solo career and scored more hits, with ‘I get a very particular feeling inside’ and ‘How your name was, I have forgotten”. Her new album will be released this month and will have a beautiful duet with her daughter Sharona.

Decoration of mostly flowers or fake flowers worn on a piece of clothing. The use of decorative pictures on your jacket is so 2008!

Should I stay or should I go now?

In October 2004, Cor decided to go to the Internet Librarian International (ILI) Conference in London. It promised to be a great event: new technologies, new ways of working, lots of inspiration, nice colleagues, big pints and great audiovisual side events, such as theater, film, music. However, his colleague Ingeborg -also up for ILI – convinced him to stay in the Baden Powell House, a nice basic youth hostel, a brisk walk from the conference centre….
